Vessel Evaluation & Onboarding

The yacht is your home, your transport, and your sanctuary. Our selection process for partner vessels is uncompromising. Each yacht must pass a comprehensive audit before being considered for our fleet.

Our 50-Point Vessel Audit Rubric Includes:

• Safety & Seaworthiness (Weighting: 40%):
  • Valid certification from Indonesia’s Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Laut (DGST).
  • Compliance with SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) standards for safety equipment (life rafts, EPIRB, satellite phones, medical kits).
  • Impeccable hull integrity and engine maintenance records, reviewed by an independent marine surveyor.
  • Experienced, licensed captain and crew with STCW certifications.
• Crew Professionalism & Service (Weighting: 30%):
  • Ratio of crew to guests (must meet luxury standards).
  • Demonstrated experience in high-end hospitality.
  • Mandatory safety and first-aid training (including emergency oxygen administration for dive trips).
  • English language proficiency for key crew members.
• Comfort & Amenities (Weighting: 20%):
  • Quality of cabins, linens, and en-suite facilities.
  • Onboard culinary capabilities and hygiene standards.
  • Availability of recreational equipment (diving/snorkeling gear, kayaks, etc.).
  • Overall vessel cleanliness and presentation.
• Environmental Responsibility (Weighting: 10%):

A vessel must score a minimum of 90% on our audit to be accepted. Audits are conducted annually through on-site inspections by our Director of Expeditions.

Itinerary Design & Validation

Our itineraries are more than just a list of places. They are narratives, crafted to tell the story of the Spice Islands. Our design process is collaborative and research-based.

1. Research & Development: Led by our expert team, we combine historical research, marine biology data, and local knowledge to identify points of interest and potential routes.
2. Scouting & Route-Proofing: Our team, including our Lead Captain, physically sails potential new routes to assess navigational feasibility, anchorage quality, and travel times. We do not offer any itinerary that we have not personally tested.
3. Experience Vetting: Every single activity, from a guided tour of Fort Belgica to a specific dive site, is vetted for quality, safety, and authenticity. We assess the knowledge of local guides, the condition of trails, and the health of coral reefs.
4. Dynamic Pacing: We design our itineraries to balance iconic experiences with unstructured time for relaxation and spontaneous discovery, avoiding the rushed ‘checklist’ feel of mass-market tours.

Partner & Supplier Audit Process

Our service extends beyond the yacht. We partner with a network of local suppliers for provisions, ground transport, and specialized guiding services. Each partner is subject to our strict audit process.

• Local Guides: Must be licensed by the HPI (Himpunan Pramuwisata Indonesia) and undergo our own in-house training on our specific historical and ecological curriculum.
• Provisioners: We prioritize suppliers who provide fresh, high-quality local produce and seafood, sourced sustainably from local markets in Ambon and Banda Neira.
• Ground Transport: All vehicles used for airport transfers or land excursions must have valid permits, insurance, and undergo regular safety checks. Drivers must have a professional license and a clean driving record.
